3 WCGJ 2018 POSTER.jpg

 John Jay College

In fall of 2018 and the height of #MeToo, curator Monika Fabijanska invited us to exhibit in her exhibition at John Jay College of Criminal Justice called The Un-Heroic Act. Representations of Rape in Contemporary Women’s Art in the US. Given the nature of the show and after hearing the school itself had just been involved in its own sexual harassment scandal, GGBB realized we needed, to not just exhibit, but bring our GGBB Campus program to their students. Working with the Women’s Center for Gender Justice Center, GGBB and the center’s extremely diligent, strong, intelligent, and activist students created two posters to address rape culture as they relate to sexual assault, abusers, and their abuse of power. The finished poster was hung around campus and in the exhibition, which was highly regarded in the art community and beyond.
